This course will teach students how to draft litigation documents and the various steps involved in navigating legislative or administrative processes in several jurisdictions. Students will obtain the skills necessary for the practical application of "legislation" more broadly interpreted to include constitutional provisions, statures, and ordinances. The course will be equally applicable to rules and rulemaking by federal, state, and local governmental agencies. Students will learn to prepare a variety of legislative instruments (Bills, resolutions, committee and floor amendments, ordinances, appropriations requests, agency regulations, others). Students will gain exposure to drafting some of the more substantial litigation documents necessary to any legislative or administrative process giving them practical knowledge.
