This course will focus on women in the law with a particular focus on women in the law in New Mexico. Over half of the course will focus on legal issues particularly affecting women such as domestic violence, employment discrimination, sexual harassment, the international Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women, state equal rights amendments, reproductive rights and justice. The second part of the course will examine women's achievements and accomplishments in the legal profession. the course is a writing seminar and successful completion of a paper on a related topic will satisfy the writing requirement.
