The Legal Analysis and Communication program is led by Interim Director Steven Homer, who joined the program in 2004. The program enjoys a strong partnership with the New Mexico judiciary, most notably reflected in the New Mexico Court of Appeals Oral Advocacy Tournament every spring.
Teachers in the Legal Analysis and Communication Program have at least two years of practical lawyering experience. They have now chosen to dedicate themselves full time to teaching the many practical skills related to legal analysis and communication.
David Stout is a graduate of the University of New Mexico School of law, and joined the Legal Analysis and Communication program in the fall of 2012. He brought over twenty years’ practice experience to his teaching, as well as experience teaching ethics and insurance law.
Scott England is visiting the University of New Mexico School of Law during the 2013-2014 academic year. He brings nine years’ experience teaching legal writing and legislative drafting at the University of Alabama School of Law.
