Faculty

The Legal Analysis and Communication Faculty is led by Director Barbara Blumenfeld, who has molded and advanced the analysis and communication program at UNM. She has created a strong partnership with the New Mexico judiciary, most notably reflected in the New Mexico Court of Appeals Oral Advocacy Tournament every spring. She has also guided the program to its current model, staffed by full-time legal writing professionals dedicated to teaching legal analysis and communication.

Instructors in the Legal Analysis and Communication Program have at least two years of practical lawyering experience. They have now chosen to dedicate themselves full time to teaching the many practical skills related to legal analysis and communication.

Steven Homer joined the faculty in the fall of 2004. Prior to that time he practiced in the area of family law. He is an active member in national legal writing groups.

Megan Dunning Argo joined the UNM Law faculty in 2007, after working for the Federal Public Defender in the District of Delaware, where she was the office's research and writing specialist. She also started and edited a quarterly newsletter and supervised the office's summer internship and externship programs.
