Nick Pica, for whom practicing business law was a passion, died in August. He was 65.
Pica was born in Rochester, N.Y., but lived in Albuquerque for 45 years. He studied engineering and accounting, earning an undergraduate degree from the University of New Mexico before finding his calling in law. He graduated from the UNM School of Law in 1968.
For most of his legal career, he was the managing partner of his own Albuquerque firm, most recently known as Pica & Vaughn. His clients included banks and financial institutions and he also practiced in the areas of commercial law, financial and real estate transactions, tax law and administrative law.
Pica belonged to a number of community organizations, was a devoted Lobo fan and musician, and he enjoyed reading.
