David Ira Rupp of Alamogordo, a former judge in the 12th Judicial District Court, died Dec. 13, 2012. He was 65. He graduated in 1980 from the University of New Mexico School of Law as a visiting student from California Western University-San Diego.
Rupp practiced law for 30 years in New Mexico before being appointed to the bench by former Gov. Bill Richardson in January 2010. He grew up in Albuquerque, attended Sandia High School and in 1965 joined the U.S. Navy, later serving as a medic in Vietnam.
He is survived by his three children, daughters Heather Dollins and Katie Rupp and son Benjamin Rupp; his grandchildren, Taylor Dollins, Teresa Dollins, Kyla Rupp, Ayden Rupp and Brennan Elrod, and great grandson Josiah Rupp.
