Community Lawyering Clinic

The Community Lawyering Clinic (CLC) is a community-based approach to client representation and offers students the opportunity to learn and use their lawyering skills at various community sites in Albuquerque. The course is oriented toward preparing students for entry into the legal profession of the future, and includes introducing problem solving by means of multidisciplinary collaboration with physicians, social workers, community planners, community activists, clergy, and business persons. It also seeks to facilitate the development of students' perspectives on issues of social justice, the role of the lawyer in building communities, and dealing with diversity.

Students participate in choosing project work and case types. Students with questions about this Community Lawyering Clinic are encouraged to visit with Professor Sedillo Lopez.
