Law Practice Clinic

I teach in the law clinic because I believe clinical education is an essential part of the law school's mission to produce a well rounded, competent and professional law graduate. Since almost all law students enroll in the clinic during their third year of studies, the clinical law program at UNM provides the necessary transitional training for law students to begin their professional careers. The Law Clinic's emphasis on basic lawyering skills, professional values, law office management, technology, career development, public service and the notion that lawyers can be agents for positive change in society provides an important capstone to each student's formal legal education. I particularly enjoy working with law students because of the high level of energy, enthusiasm and dedication they devote to Clinic clients. Teaching in the Law Clinic allows me to help law students begin their professional careers in a very positive manner in an almost ideal teaching environment.
