  • Course Description
    Using the problem method, a few lectures, and discussions, this course provides general substantive coverage of the application of law to medical practice and health care institutions. In particular, the course covers theories of medical liability, the physician-patient relationship, malpractice, informed consent, malpractice reform, the structure of health care institutions, health care cost control, antitrust applications to health care, access to health care, new forms of procreation, the right to die, definitions of life and death, and decision-making within the health care system.
