  • Course Description

"Law Office Management" is a practical, "how to" class to help you prepare for the business side of practicing law.  The class will focus on 1) helping you decide what type of law practice best fits with your management style (solo practice, large firm, agency, etc.) and 2) how to effectively, ethically, efficiently and economically manage the business end of your practice, no matter what context you choose.  Some of the topics that will be addressed include various types of law office arrangements, roles in firms such as associates and partners, trust accounts, billing practices, staffing, marketing, and time management, among others.  The class will be interactive and several practicing attorneys will provide guest lectures on specific areas of law office management.
