Scott Davidson

Scott Davidson focuses his practice on appellate and habeas corpus litigation in federal and state courts. He is a member of the Criminal Justice Act Appellate Attorney Panel for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and the Criminal Justice Act Appellate and Habeas Corpus panels for the U.S. District Court in New Mexico.

Davidson is an editor of The Electronic Digest of New Mexico Cases, a quarterly online legal database containing summaries of published opinions from New Mexico’s appellate courts.

He has been a member of the adjunct faculty at the UNM School of Law since 2006. From 2006 to 2008, Davidson taught an upper-level seminar entitled, “Innocence and Justice”, which focused on post-conviction relief in state and federal court for New Mexico prisoners with credible claims of actual innocence.

Davidson has been a research and writing specialist for the Federal Public Defender and an associate at Freedman Boyd Daniels Hollander Goldberg & Cline. He clerked for New Mexico Supreme Court Justice Richard Ransom (1996-97), Justice Pamela Minzner (1997) and Justice Dan A. MacKinnon, III (1997-98).

Davidson is co-teaching the course with Trace Rabern.
