Native New Mexican, born and raised in Albuquerque. Graduated Magna cum Laude from UNM with Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. Got JD from Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University. Prosecutor for 18 1/2 years, the last 17 of which have been with the Second Judicial District. Have handled a wide variety of cases, including misdemeanor domestic violence, misdemeanor and felony DWI, and specialty areas, including repeat offenders, probation violations, and extraditions. For the last 10 years have prosecuted violent crimes, including homicides, sexual assaults, armed robberies, and batteries. Currently the assistant supervisor and screening attorney for the Violent Crimes Division. Second semester teaching CLIP at the UNM School of Law. Excited to expose potential future prosecutors to how the black-and-white letter of the law applies in real life, and stressing the huge ethical and professional responsibilities prosecutors carry.
