Edward Ricco has served as coach of the ABA National Moot Court team since 2003, having previously taught appellate advocacy at the UNM School of Law.
A lawyer in private practice with the Rodey Law Firm since 1981, Ricco heads the firm’s appellate practice group. His practice has involved him in more than 100 appeals in both state and federal courts, encompassing a broad range of subject matter, including civil rights, constitutional law, antitrust, commercial law, torts, administrative law, land use, intellectual property, workers’ compensation and other areas.
He is a New Mexico Board of Legal Specialization certified specialist in appellate practice and a fellow of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers. As a law student at UNM, Ricco (`80) competed in moot court and was co-author of a brief that placed third in national competition. The following year he served as student coach of the law school team. He has remained intensely interested in moot court as a training ground for top-quality appellate advocates.
