Dr. Kent Kiehl, Professor of Psychology, Neuroscience and the Law at UNM, works with the Mind Research Network. His work focuses on mental health issues that are particularly prevalent in those who are incarcerated and involves several ongoing projects to better understand the interaction between brain function, genetics, and environmental factors. The goal is to improve interventions and prevention strategies and promote better mental health as a whole.

Sandoval-Strausz focuses his scholarship in the social and cultural history of the 19th- and 20th-century United States. In that realm, he teaches legal history and has published in legal history.
