Judicial Vacancies
The Constitution of New Mexico mandates conduction of Judicial selection by the Judicial Nominating Commission, a board comprised of New Mexico Judges, attorneys and citizens, chaired by the Dean of the UNM School of Law.
The Commission solicits applications, interviews and recommends candidates to the Governor of New Mexico for each judicial vacancy.

1ST JUDICIAL DISTRICT COURT NOMINEES
The District Court Judicial Nominating Commission convened on Thursday, November 5, 2009, in Sante Fe, New Mexico, and completed its evaluation of the seventeen (17) applicants for the vacancy on the court. The Commission recommends the following six (6) applicants (in alphabetical order) to Governor Bill Richardson: Honorable T. Glenn Ellington, Mary Marlowe-Sommer, Francis J. Mathew, Sarah M. Singleton, David K. Thomson, and Aaron J. Wolf.

12TH JUDICIAL DISTRICT COURT ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY
A vacancy on the 12th Judicial District Court will exist in Alamogordo as of January 1, 2010, upon the resignation of the Honorable Sandra A. Grisham. Inquiries regarding the details or assignment of this judicial vacancy should be directed to the Chief Judge or the Administrator of the court.
Kevin K. Washburn, Chair of the 12th Judicial District Nominating Commission, solicits applications for this position from lawyers who meet the statutory qualifications in Article VI, Section 14 of the New Mexico Constitution. Applications may be obtained from this website, or e-mailed or faxed to you by calling Sandra Bauman at (505) 277-4700. The deadline for applications has been set for Monday, November 23, 2009, at 5:00 p.m. Applications received after that time will not be considered.
The Judicial Nominating Commission will meet on Friday, December 11, 2009 in Alamogordo, NM, to evaluate the applicants for this position. The Commission meeting is open to the public, and details regarding the time and place of the meeting will be available after the application deadline.
