UNM Mediation Training
Accommodations
What To Bring
A pad and pen for notes. A mug for coffee/tea so we can reduce use of disposable styrofoam cups. Dress informally, comfortably, and flexibly. The heating and cooling system is unpredictable, so be prepared to add/subtract clothing for personal comfort. We provide light snacks, fruit, coffee and tea. You may want to bring your own lunches and/or food to nibble on during the training. The days are long and you need a high level of energy. Vending machines for snacks and sodas are also available.
Parking
If you are not a UNM student, you will need a visitor's parking permit on both Fridays. You do not need a permit on Saturdays and Sundays. Park your car in any of the "L" lots around the Law School, come to room 2403 on the main floor, and we will give you a visitor's permit to place on the inside of your windshield.
Meals During Training
We will provide light snacks, fruit, coffee (regular & decaf), and tea throughout the training. If your training begins on Friday, we suggest you eat an early lunch or bring food to get you through the afternoon. Feel free to bring your own lunch on the days you will be in training.
Local Restaurants
One of the attractions of the Southwest is the excellent New Mexican cuisine. Padilla's Mexican Kitchen, 1510 Girard Blvd. NE (262-0115), and Los Cuates, 4901 Lomas Blvd. NE (255-5079), are two examples of New Mexican fare. The two guides listed below offer a wide range of dining options.
Local Hotels
The Hilton Inn (1-884-2500, 1901University NE) and the Holiday Inn (1-884-2511, 2020 Menaul NE) are about five minutes away by car or 20-25 minutes on foot. In the past, both have made University rates available for people attending. Motel 6 on University (N of Indian School NE and S of Menaul NE) is also very close.
