Sarah Parks, a 1L, will be spending the summer at Pegasus Legal Services for Children in Albuquerque as the recipient of a prestigious Bergstrom Child Welfare Law Summer Fellowship, which encourages law students to pursue careers in child welfare law.
The fellowship, offered by the University of Michigan Law School, was presented to 26 law students nationwide. Kicking off the 10-week program will be a three-day training session at Ann Arbor, MI.
At Pegasus, Parks will be working with Co-Director Tara Ford on a variety of children's legal issues. Parks is on the Board of Directors of La Familia in Albuquerque and in law school wants to focus her studies on adoption and child advocacy law.
