Professor Sherri Burr lectured on, "Why Women Need Wills" during the first New Mexico Women Authors Book Festival on Sept. 27 at Milner Plaza on Museum Hill in Santa Fe. The event showcased authors as part of the museum's New Mexico Creates program, which provides marketing and promotion opportunities to support artists, artisans, and other creative entrepreneurs statewide.
The festival hosted 75 New Mexico women authors, including former CIA agent Valerie Plame Wilson and novelist Ana Castillo. Burr also signed copies of her book, Wills and Trusts in a Nutshell, third edition, which she co-authored with Robert Mennell.
She has written or co-written 11 law books, along with chapters in three others. She also wrote a book about the year her teen-age nephew spent living with her.
