CLE Program - Effective Representation of Public Clients

This course will introduce students and practitioners to a broad spectrum of legal issues related to the public law of New Mexico. Legal issues covered will include sources of state law, regulatory and licensing processes, employment and municipal government law, public torts, administrative and legislative processes, public contracting, governmental ethics, confidentiality of public records, open meetings and the role of legal counsel in a public agency. Emphasis will be placed on New Mexico statutory law and administrative rules as applicable.

The course is designed primarily for state government attorneys, but is also open to law students and to the general public with permission of the instructors. For more information call Melissa Lobato at 277-1457.

CLE Credit and Cost

Members of the State Bar of New Mexico who attend the class may receive 23.8 general, 3.6 ethics and 1.8 professionalism CLE credits. Cost is $399 for CLE credit ($349 early-bird discount before August 12) and $199 for CLE credit by Access to Justice members (Become a member of Access to Justice!)
