The University of New Mexico School of Law has continued to receive national recognition for its clinical law program, which was placed sixth in the nation by U.S. News & World Report in its annual law school ranking, released in late April.
The UNM School of Law also was recognized for its commitment to diversity, being ranked fifth in the nation in the magazine’s diversity index. The methodology used to compute the index was published in a 1992 article by Philip Meyer and Shawn McIntosh in the International Journal of Public Opinion Research.
In the clinical category, UNM came in behind Georgetown University, American University, CUNY-Queens, New York University and Washington University, St. Louis.
Leading the diversity index was Florida A&M University, Texas Southern University, University of the District of Columbia and Florida International University.
