Brett Hills, founder of the successful website, 999dine.com, will shed light on the everyday success skills he has acquired in his rise from extreme skier to an accomplished entrepreneur at noon on Feb. 17 in Room 2401. The talk is sponsored by the Business Law Society and lunch will be provided.
During his talk titled, “Success Skills: Things They Never Taught in School (but should have)”, Hills will share the top business and life success skills he has learned since earning an MBA from Anderson Schools of Management 10 years ago.
Specifically, he will discuss how to master everyday skills that will improve confidence and production in today's business environment; strengthen interpersonal relationships and handle fast-changing workplace conditions; be better equipped to perform as a persuasive communicator, problem-solver and focused leader and how to develop a take-charge attitude initiated with confidence and enthusiasm.
Hills also will share his own story that began when he moved to Taos in 1994 with the goal of becoming a professional extreme skier and segued into a job bartending in the Caribbean.
Upon earning his MBA, Hills launched 999dine.com, a website where diners can purchase dining certificates at a discount. The website continues to thrive today. In addition, Hills is a commercial real estate adviser with Maestas and Ward.
