The UNM School of Law sent two teams to the National Sexual Orientation Law Moot Court competition in late January, where they put on their best performance after weeks of preparation. Team members were: Taina Colon (`11) and Kate Loewe (`11), and D’Ontae Sylvertooth (`11) and Karen Chase (`11). While they did not advance in the competition, their coach, Professor Steven Homer said, “They argued beautifully.”
In addition to the many people who provided assistance throughout their preparation, New Mexico Supreme Court justices Ed Chavez (`91) and Charles Daniels (`69) and state Court of Appeals Judge Linda Vanzi (`95) grilled team members during their dress rehearsal.

The competition was sponsored by the Williams Institute at UCLA.
