Professor Sherri Burr was a panelist at an annual symposium presented by Whittier Law School's Center for International and Comparative Law on Feb. 11. She spoke on international entertainment law during a panel presentation that addressed the international music scene.
The title of the 28th annual symposium was, "Entertainment and Sports Law: The International Dimension."
Burr also spoke at the mid-winter meeting of the Copyright Law Society of the U.S.A., which was held in Santa Fe in early February. She engaged the participants in a discussion of Viacom International, Inc. v. YouTube, Inc., an intellectual property lawsuit. Those participants included an attorney who represented J.D. Salinger and an attorney who represented Sony in a 2010 case that involved the film, "Don't Mess with the Zohan."
