Arts Talk, a local-cable television show produced by Professor Sherri Burr and students in her Entertainment Law class, took top place in the Best Television Show category in the 2012 New Mexico Press Women Communication Contest. The episode that won the award featured nationally renowned actor John Corbett interviewed by Burr.

Another episode received a second place honor in the category of Best Television Interview. In that episode, Burr and Max De Azevedo (`12) interviewed Marc Shuter (`12), who wrote the script for “The Bigfoot Election.” Shuter’s film won Best New Mexico Feature at the 2011 Albuquerque Film Festival.

For Arts Talk, UNM law students helped with all aspects of the television production, from securing guests for the show, serving as the attorney in charge of obtaining release agreements from guests and the audience to sign, to even applying makeup.
