Renewable energy in New Mexico was the focus of an Oct. 17 presentation as part of the 2012 Natural Resources Speaker Series. Presenters were Cindy Murray, Brian Arellano and Laura Sanchez. The title of their presentation was, “Expanding and Integrating Renewable Energy in New Mexico: Challenges and Opportunities.”
The presentation took place at 5:15 p.m. in Room 2402 at the UNM School of Law.
Murray and Arellano, both PNM employees, discussed PNM’s renewable energy and battery storage demonstration project and some of the challenges PNM experiences in expanding and integrating renewable energy projects into PNM’s system.
Sanchez, a staff attorney with the New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department, focused on the legal challenges of renewable energy transmission and discuss the state’s ongoing interest in the renewables market.
The presentation was free and open to the public and was been approved by the New Mexico MCLE Board for 1.0 hours of General CLE credit. .
The presentation was sponsored by the Natural Resources Program at the UNM School of Law and the Environmental Law Society.
