UNM School of Law Librarian professor Sherri Nicole Thomas was named to Lawyers of Color's 50 Under 50 list, a comprehensive catalog of minority law professors making an impact in legal education. See the issue online at http://www.obabl.com/50_under_50/#/18.
Thomas earned her J.D. from the University of New Mexico in 2005. She currently serves as the Collection Management Coordinator and is a member of the Faculty and Public Services Department of the Law Library. She is responsible for providing reference services to Law School students, staff, faculty, and the public. Thomas created and teaches the two-credit-hour Indian Law Research course and frequently leads legal research workshops.
Thomas has also been appointed to the Law School’s Indian Law Faculty Committee and the Indian Law Certificate Committee, volunteers for the New Mexico State Bar Access to Justice Commission and has been a past Chair of the Native Peoples Law Caucus of the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL).
Lawyers of Color has received recognition from the American Bar Association, Thomas Reuters and The National Black Law Student Association among others.
