Charles H. Kalm, who graduated from the UNM School of Law in 2010, has been selected as the UNM 2013-2014 Outstanding Affiliated Teacher of the Year. Kalm is a part-time adjunct lecturer in the Department of Philosophy at UNM and teaches Reasoning and Critical Thinking and the Philosophy of Law and Morals, serving about 100 students each semester. The award was presented by the Faculty Senate Teaching Enhancement Committee and the Center for Teaching Excellence at a ceremony on May 7, 2014 at the Student Union Building (SUB).
Charles and his father, Thomas L., and brother Karl F., own and operate the Kalm Law Firm, P.C. in Albuquerque. His family members are also graduates of the UNM School of Law: his father Thomas L. ('78) and siblings Katrina R. Richards ('09), sister-in-law Megan M. Kalm ('09), Karl F. ('10), and Cory J. ('13). Charles practices in areas including the defense of the accused, civil litigation, administrative law, and family law.
