UNM's Law & Indigenous Peoples Program Celebrates Fifth Annual Graduation Celebration

Graduating members of the Class of 2014 gathered with family members, faculty, staff, and current students to celebrate and honor the accomplishments of graduates who completed the Indian Law Certificate Program, the Southwest Indian Law Clinic, and participated in the Tribal Law Journal.

Held at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, the event featured an Invocation given by Syngen Kannassatega (’15) and welcoming talks by Associate Dean Christine Zuni Cruz, Dean David J. Herring, and Concetta Tsosie, 2014-15 president of NALSA. An awards ceremony was led by Prof. Barbara Creel, followed by the Honor Song by Star Bear. The program closed with an address by Professor John LaVelle.

The event was co-sponsored by the Law & Indigenous Peoples Program and the Native American Law Students Association (NALSA).
