Phi Alpha Delta is an international fraternity with over 200,000 members throughout the world. There are 183 law school chapters, 95 alumni chapters, and over 200 pre-law chapters of P.A.D.. In fact, 1 out of every 6 lawyers in North America is a member of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, International. What does this mean for you? P.A.D. offers endless opportunities for networking, resources, and discounts on auto insurance, car rentals, bar reviews, and books. P.A.D. also offers members special loan consolidation packages, credit card rates, scholarship opportunities, endowment loans, and long-term planning assistance.
Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, International was the first law fraternity to remove all race, color, creed, and national origin restrictions on membership and was the first law fraternity to admit women as members. Some of our most distinguished members include Presidents Taft, Wilson, Harding, Truman, Carter, and Clinton. Justices Ginsburg and Breyer are also among the list of outstanding P.A.D. members, along with numerous Senators, Representatives, and Governors from across the nation.
Each year, Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, International gathers its members from each district to meet for a conference to exchange ideas on fund-raising, community service projects, professional programs, and student programs. During the district conferences, the District Justice (a practicing attorney and P.A.D. alumni) and chapter officers are updated on all the happenings at each chapter. University of New Mexico School of Law falls in District V, along with Arizona State University School of Law, University of Arizona School of Law, and University of Nevada at Las Vegas School of Law, and each chapter alternates to host the district conference. No matter where the district conference happens, in District V you can bet it will be a good time.
Every two years, Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, International hosts its Biennial Convention. All members are encouraged to attend this huge event and P.A.D. will send one member from each law school chapter, no charge. This has proven to be an awesome event that is well attended, not surprisingly, since it is always held at beautiful resorts in Florida or Phoenix, Arizona. This convention is a great opportunity to flex those people skills and solidify your commitment to the principles that Phi Alpha Delta stands for.
