Incoming Class Profile

The UNM School of Law student body is a diverse group. While the majority are New Mexico residents, their undergraduate backgrounds represent a mix of state and private schools throughout the United States. While each incoming class has a wide range of baccalaureate experiences and majors, this year’s most popular undergraduate majors included: biology, business administration, communications, criminal justice/criminology, economics, English, health professions, history, liberal arts, linguistics, music, philosophy, political science, psychology, and sociology.  

This year, approximately 15% of incoming first-year students hold graduate-level degrees in a wide range of specialty areas, including: anthropology, biology, business administration, education, fine arts, forensic psychology, history, journalism, liberal arts, linguistics, music, philosophy, Spanish, and speech-pathology.
