School of Law Faculty Participate in the 2026 American Association of Law Schools Conference in New Orleans

Every year, the Association of American Law Schools (“AALS”) hosts its annual meeting bringing together legal scholars and educators from across the country to exchange ideas and strengthen American legal education.
AALS held its 120th Annual Meeting in New Orleans from January 6-9, under the theme “Impact. Excellence. Resilience. The Enduring Contributions of Legal Education.”
Professor Marc-Tizoc González
- Served as the 2025 Chair of the AALS Section on Critical Theories.
- Moderated the Section on Critical Theories main program, “2025 to 2050: Legal Education in (what was?) the United States,” co-sponsored by the Sections on Civil Rights, Criminal Procedure, Education Law, Law and the Humanities, and Poverty Law.
- Served as a board member for the Critical (Legal) Collective and Latina and Latino Critical Legal Theory (LatCrit), Inc.
- Participated in the “March in Joy for Justice, Democracy, and the Rule of Law,” organized by the Critical (Legal) Collective, and co-sponsored by the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) and LatCrit, Inc.
Professor Emerita Margaret Montoya
- Served as a board member for the Critical (Legal) Collective.
- Helped organize the “March in Joy for Justice, Democracy, and the Rule of Law.”
Professor Cliff Villa
- Presented on the panel “Environmental Law and Natural Resources and Energy Law Joint Program.”
