School of Law Professor Shares Environmental Expertise in Hawaii

During the summer of 2026, UNM School of Law Professor Cliff Villa served as a Distinguished Visiting Scholar at the University of Hawaii Richardson School of Law.
Professor Villa taught a six-week seminar on Environmental Justice using the latest edition of his book Environmental Justice: Law, Policy, and Regulation on the subject (4th ed. 2026). He tailored class discussions to environmental justice issues affecting Native Hawaiians and the Hawaiian Islands.
