About International Law
In an age of increasing globalization, the UNM School of Law recognizes the need for lawyers to be comfortable in different cultures and with clients from different cultures.
Students can choose from a broad range of courses that explore many facets of international law. They also can study abroad for one or two semesters through direct UNM exchange agreements with other universities or through the American Bar Association. The centerpiece of the UNM School of Law's study-abroad opportunities is the well-established Madrid Summer Law Institute in central Spain.
Regardless of what direction UNM law students take after graduation, an exposure to the world's legal arena in an international law class or during a summer or semester abroad will build confidence and contribute to their training as well-rounded practitioners.
