Reciprocal Services

Procedures for UNM Students and Alumni

Reciprocity allows UNM students and graduates to use the career services offices at other law schools. Any UNM law student or graduate who wishes to use the career resources services of another law school must first arrange for the Office of Career Services to send the other school a reciprocity letter. Please complete the form below to request reciprocity services at another law school. Once the UNM student or graduate is granted reciprocity by the other school, he or she may use its services according to the terms of its reciprocity policy. Please carefully review the reciprocity policy of any law schools to which you are granted reciprocity services. ABA law school’s reciprocity policies are available on the NALP website.

Reciprocity Policy for Students and Alumni of Other Law Schools

The University of New Mexico School of Law Office of Career Services offers reciprocity services to students and alumni of American Bar Association (ABA)-accredited law schools that allow students and alumni of the University of New Mexico School of Law to use their reciprocity services.

Reciprocity services include access to job announcements and our career services resource library. Reciprocity does not provide for participation in fall or spring recruiting programs, career advising, or application material review. Normally, reciprocity is granted on a one-for-one exchange basis, and lasts for a period of three months, beginning on the date of the letter granting reciprocity. Services are not offered from June 20-September 15

Reciprocity is a privilege extended to students and graduates of other law schools, and the University of New Mexico Office of Career Services reserves the right to refuse, modify or terminate reciprocity status at any time.

A request for reciprocity must be made in writing, by letter, fax, or email, from a Career Services official at the requesting school in advance of a visit by the student or graduate. Requests should be directed to:
