J.D. Program
The Juris Doctorate (J.D.) is a three-year program that focuses on practical lawyering in a small, intimate learning environment. First year students take courses that address the fundamental aspects of the law and develop skills in advocacy, legal writing, legal research, oral argument, litigation, counseling and negotiation. Second and third year students can tailor their coursework to their individual interests.

Dual Degree Program
Students can earn the J.D. degree and a Masters or Ph.D in an academic field at UNM. Dual degrees offered are a J.D. with a Master of Arts in Accounting, a Master of Arts in Latin American Studies, a Master of Business Administration, or a Master of Public Administration.

Master of Studies in Law Degree
The Master of Studies in Law (MSL) is a graduate degree program that offers a condensed legal education for those who do not need or want a law degree. It’s designed for mid-career professionals and recent college graduates who want to enhance their career with legal education relevant to their field or interests.
