Professor Camille Carey joins the UNM Law Faculty

Camille Carey has permanently joined the UNM law faculty, after spending a semester as a visiting professor in the school’s clinical law program. She will teach the Community Lawyering and Law Practice clinics.

Carey’s research interests include immigration, immigrant rights, family law, domestic violence and feminist legal theory.

Prior to joining the UNM faculty, she taught at Yale Law School, where she established and taught the Domestic Violence Clinic, which focused on serving immigrant and low-income women. She also worked for six years at the Legal Aid Society of New York in the civil division.

Carey earned her J.D. from the UCLA School of Law and her B.A. from Vassar College.
