May 25, 2017 - Tamara Williams
An article that former Dean and Professor Emeritus Leo Romero co-authored in 2002 has withstood the test of time.
On May 22, 2017, the New Mexico Supreme Court filed an opinion in Cordova v. Cline, No. S-1-SC-34093 slip op., that cited Resolving Land-Use Disputes by Intimidation: SLAPP Suits in New Mexico.
In the article, Romero and Frederick M. Rowe outlined the “recent Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation (SLAPP) litigation in New Mexico, summarizes the new anti-SLAPP law, and highlights important legal issues posed by the statutory text for land-use controversies.”
Co-Dean Sergio Pareja remarked, “Congratulations to Leo for writing articles that continue to be influential 15 years after publication!”
