Adjunct Professor Grace Allison Named Chair of ABA Group

Adjunct Professor Grace Allison has been named Chair of the 300-member Charitable Planning and Organizations Group of the Real Property Trust and Estate section (“RPTE”) of the American Bar Association.
In late April, she attended RPTE’s Spring Symposia, where she chaired a panel on “International Philanthropy and Your Clients: Rules to Give By.”
While in Washington, D.C., Allison also participated in informal discussions with U.S. Treasury representatives about forthcoming regulations in the charitable arena, including those governing donor advised funds and appraisals of non-cash charitable contributions.
Allison is the principal author of comments to Treasury from RPTE on pending donor advised fund regulations.
In the 2013-14 academic year, she taught the Nonprofit Organizations course; she has also served as Qualified Tax Expert for several semesters in the Business and Tax Clinic of the UNM Clinical Law Programs.
