“Using the Constitution to Advance Racial Equity” to take place Wednesday, October 18 from 12-1 pm.

The W. K. Kellogg Foundation Speakers Lunchbox Series presents, “Using the Constitution to Advance Racial Equity” on October 18, 2017 from 12:00 pm- 1:00 in Room 2405.

The event features two guest speakers from the New Mexico Center on Law and Poverty: Gail Evans, Legal Director, and Preston Sanchez, Staff Attorney.

From a suit against the State of New Mexico for its failure to meet its constitutionally mandated responsibility to provide all public school students the programming and supports necessary to succeed — to ending the statutory exclusion of agricultural laborers from the New Mexico Workers’ Compensation Act, the New Mexico Center on Law and Poverty uses the US and NM Constitutions to ensure all NM residents are treated fairly.

This program is supported with funding from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and co-sponsored by MALSA.
