January 4, 2011
Dean Kevin Washburn has authored Gaming and Gambling Law: Cases and Materials, a casebook that focuses on the unique issues that arise in both the legal and illegal components of the fast-growing American gambling industry. The 650-page book, published in late 2010 by Aspen Publishers, addresses issues of criminal law, federalism, regulation, due process and contracts.
In the book, Washburn focuses on the key issues that form the foundations of American legal thought on gambling, and he discusses developments in Internet gambling. He also presents contrasting regulatory models, providing an opportunity to understand the connections between law and policy in a developing field.
