2025 Law Scholarship Golf Classic Raises Over $40,000
July 23, 2025

The 2025 Law Scholarship Golf Classic, presented by Nusenda Credit Union, was held on Friday, June 6, at the UNM Championship Golf Course. This year’s tournament brought together 36 foursomes and raised a total of $40,326.08 to support scholarships for UNM School of Law students through the Alumni Association.
Each year, the Law Scholarship Golf Classic provides a meaningful opportunity for alumni, supporters, and community partners to come together in support of legal education. All funds raised go directly toward scholarships that ease the financial burden for students and help grow the next generation of legal professionals in New Mexico.

“I was born and raised in Albuquerque and had my sights set on going to the UNM School of Law for years. When I found out I was not only accepted to the school but also awarded this incredible scholarship, I felt so honored and welcomed. I am a first-generation law student who is passionate about public interest law. Knowing that my debts after law school will now be so much smaller, I feel a huge weight off my shoulders. After graduation, I know I will have more freedom to choose a career that will align with my values while still being able to support myself and my family. This is all thanks to the Alumni Association and their incredible generosity. Thank you for making me feel a part of this community,” said scholarship recipient Rachel Swanteson-Franz.

Out of the 36 teams that competed, Cornish Law took first place in the tournament, Armstrong Roth Whitley and Johnstone Family Law took second, and Peifer Mullins Hanson & Baker, P.A., took third place.
The School of Law extends gratitude to the sponsors of this event, the School of Law Alumni Board, and to everyone who played, volunteered, and donated. This support makes a lasting impact on the lives of our students.
