Federal Bar Association Hosts the 2026 Indian Law Conference

The Federal Bar Association hosted its annual Indian Law Conference on April 9-10, 2026, at the Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale. The two-day conference centered on the theme “Federal Indian Law in 2026: Past Developments, Current Realities, and Mapping the Road Ahead.”
During the event, the UNM School of Law hosted an alumni breakfast, bringing together colleagues, alumni, and friends working in Indian law. The Director of Student and Career Services, Melanie Fritzsche, hosted a resume-building and mock interview session for the National Native American Law Students Association (NALSA). The School of Law, the Law and Indigenous Peoples Program, the Tribal Law Journal, and the American Indian Law Center also hosted tables at the event to share information about their programs, impact, and ongoing efforts in the field of Indian law.
